Since his appointment as the Director of the Ophthalmology Department at Rambam Health Care Campus, Prof. Blumenthal is devoting the majority of this time to Directing and leading his department, striving towards excellence in the clinical, surgical and research aspects of his physician staff.  Hence, Prof. Blumenthal does not manage a personal public clinic, nor a private clinic.
While overseeing many of the patients treated and hospitalized in the department, the only patients that Prof. Blumenthal personally cares for are those patients
referred (or self-referred) for the purpose of undergoing glaucoma surgery.
All patients are most welcome to contact us and arrive for treatment at the Rambam Department of Ophthalmology.
Provided that you were diagnosed in need of glaucoma surgery, you are welcome to contact Prof. Blumenthal’s secretary to schedule a pre-surgery examination.  In contrast, Prof. Blumenthal will not be accessible for patients in need of consultation, diagnosis, follow-up, second opinion, therapy or laser treatment.
Prof. Blumenthal hopes that you will accept this change with understanding, a change stemming from his desire to build a strong and leading eye department in the north of the country.  Towards this goal, he is determined to utilize his entire time towards pursuing this worthy goal of providing quality care and surgical expertise to thousands of patients from all races, religions and ethnic groups.
Hence, provided that you were recently notified that you are in need of glaucoma surgery, you are welcome to contact Prof. Blumenthal’s secretary, to set a pre-surgery check-up and a date for surgery, which will take place at the Rambam Health Care Campus, Haifa.
