The Hebrew book "Glaucoma and Cataract"; authored by Prof. Eytan BlumenthalThis Hebrew book “Cataract and Glaucoma” authored by Prof. Eytan Blumenthal, describes in clear and concise language two common eye diseases of the eye, namely: cataract: blurring of vision due to opacity of the lens; and glaucoma: damage to the optic nerve due to elevated intra-ocular pressure.

The book describes what is cataract, why and when is it beneficial to have it removed; how cataract surgery is performed; what are foldable intra-ocular lenses; and last, what are some of the innovations and advances that the future holds for cataract surgery.

In the second section this book deals with what is glaucoma; how does it effect vision; how is glaucoma diagnosed; why is elevated intra-ocular pressure dangerous and harmful for the eye; what are the beneficial effects of anti-glaucoma medication; what benefits can laser surgery provide; and last, in which situations must surgery be performed.
